SHRM Foundation

The SHRM Foundation was founded in 1966 as a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from the HR profession, including academics, practitioners and representatives from SHRM. The Foundation funds research, publications and education to advance the HR profession and enhance the effectiveness of HR professionals. To support its important work, the SHRM Foundation conducts an annual fundraising campaign. All contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible.

The RI SHRM Challenge: We would like to encourage all RI SHRM members to consider making a donation to the foundation. It can be a little as $10. We will track all donations made between 1/1/2008 and 6/30/2008.

To promote the vision and mission of SHRM and to provide state-level support and endorsement of the objectives of SHRM National Area 1 (Northeast region)
To be a key influence in the shaping of workplace policies and practices that benefit human resource professionals and the organizations they serve
To enhance communications and serve as a linkage between Area and National Boards of SHRM and SHRM Chapters and members in Rhode Island
To build volunteer leadership skills and develop the talent to support leadership opportunities at the chapter, state and national levels of SHRM
